It took us 3 1/2 years to get our books printed without the “big” publishers

It has been a long road, but after exhuasting most of our savings and “pitching” our ideas to many people, we finally got a huge break! We got an investor who believes in us and is giving us the chance to write and print many books! Now it’s just a matter of selling them.

Without money in the bank, your dreams are an UPHILL battle!!!

Why is it sooo hard to do anything on your own if you don’t have the finacial resources behind you? You can have the best idea(s), but without the financial backing or money in the bank, it’s almost impossible to “get it going.”

You need to FIGHT THE FIGHT! We started writing books with our 3 daughters for fun and education and they quickly grew to be a staple in our local town. The teachers wanted them in the schools, the library wanted a copy, the local preschool wanted us to make a curriculm. It was great, except for one thing….

Well here we are 3 1/2 years later and we are now printing our third book, with the 4th and 5th slated for March. As per our daughters, we donate to different childhood charities and we got our own financing!  This last year was the toughest year ever, as Ryan was laid off from his good paying job as a police officer. We lost our benefits, pension and security. We have four kids and a dog. We basically lost our home and were literally down to our LAST DOLLAR when we got the call. “You got your money!”  To let you know how non-exaggerated,”our last dollar” statement is, after we got that phone call securing our financing for the books, we had to borrow gas money from my parents to get back home that night!

I want to tell our story and help inspire others on how NOT TO QUIT and learn you don’t need others. We were turned down by publishers and many potential investors over the years. As we learned now, THERE WAS A REASON FOR EVERYTHING! We were turned down by publishers because they didn’t want us to use  our own illustrator and they didn’t want us to publicize the fact that we donate to children’s charities on our books. Instead of changing for them, we held out and continued to live week to week and do it on our own.

Now we are available in select Barnes and Noble, printing more books and on our way…..
